Conductor and composer Elisar Riddelin is currently pursuing a master’s degree in conducting at The Royal College of Music in Stockholm with professor Tommy B. Andersson.

He has also studied conducting in Germany at Hochschule für Music Würzburg with Professor Ari Rasilainen and at Sibelius Academy in Helsinki with Professor Jorma Panula and Petri Komulainen.

In variety of masterclasses and festivals Riddelin has had an honour to work with orchestras such as Rheinland-Phalz Philharmonics, Hoffer philharmonics, Vaasa, Joensuu, Lappeenranta, Mikkeli and Jyväskylä city orchestras. He has also worked as an assistant for Esa Heikkilä in various orchestras.

Riddelin is keen on working with youth orchestras and is commonly asked to perform with National Youth Symphony Orchestra Vivo and Uusi Lahti Chamber orchestra. He also founded the Caprico Orchestra which focuses on contemporary music and has premiered over 20 new works for chamber orchestra from young Finnish composers.

As a composer Riddelin has been regarded as one of the most unique voices of his generation. His works have been frequently performed in festivals such as Helsinki Festival, Sysmä Summer sounds, Musequal and Kajaanin runoviikot. His works have been performed throughout Europe in France, Luxemburg and Germany.

Riddelin also has expanded his musical ways collaborating with painters, theatres and ceramic artists.

He has been recipient of many scholarships and awards such as Young Musician of the Year by Pro Musica foundation and grants from the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
