Saxtronauts is an exploratory saxophone ensemble that brings diverse art music to a wide range of audiences—even in unconventional locations. Their performance Space Odyssey has toured observatories and science centers across Finland in recent years.
Saxtronauts has performed at events such as the Helsinki Festival, Flow Festival, the October of New Music festival in Oulu, and the Invasive Species Club in Helsinki, and the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in England. The ensemble’s debut album was released in 2025.
The Saxtronauts—Anna-Sofia Anttonen, Nanna Ikonen, Nanako Lammi, and Sikri Lehko—arrange works from various eras for their instruments, commission new compositions, and perform original pieces written specifically for saxophone. For them, the saxophone is a tool for exploring the universe.
