Harpist Hilda Kunnola was raised in Kuusisto before moving to Helsinki, where she is currently completing her Master’s degree at the Sibelius Academy under the leadership of Stefania Saglietti Couto.
Hilda has completed her previous studies at the Sibelius Academy with Päivi Severeide, Emmanuel Ceysson, and studied in the Freiburg Conservatory with Kirsten Ecke.
As a chamber musician, she has performed at the Kamarikesä festival, the Helsinki Chamber Music Festival, the Toivakka Chamber Music Festival, and the Luosto Soi! festival. As a freelance orchestral musician, she has been playing in the Radio Symphony Orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonietta, Tampere Philharmonic, Symphony Lahti and as a substitute harpist in the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2022, Hilda was heard as a soloist of the Lahti Symphony and in the spring of 2019, she made her debut as a young soloist at the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. In the same year, she was selected as one of the young musicians of the year of the Pro Musica Foundation.
In 2023, Hilda worked as a harpist at the Finnish National Theater in the play Nuoret Idealistit, and was awarded third in the Helsinki Harp Competition.
The Finnish Cultural Foundation has been a great help in financing her Lyon and Healy 23 harp.
