Minna Ristamäki is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in accordion from the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts, Helsinki, under professor Matti Rantanen. Before this, she was a student in the youth department of the same academy.
Ristamäki has studied at international masterclasses under teachers such as Geir Draugsvoll, Stefan Hussong, Mie Miki, Janne Rättyä, Vincent Lhermet, and Friedrich Lips.
Ristamäki has participated in numerous international competitions, and won Finland’s National Accordion Competition aged only 18 years old. She has participated in countless contemporary music related chamber music projects, performing in ensembles of a large variety of different instrumental combinations.
Originally from Ylöjärvi, Ristamäki is also studying organ performance as a secondary instrument. In addition to her studies, she works as an accordion teacher at the Central-Vantaa Music Institute.
